Baptisms Planned!

Howdy!

Sorry, I recon this will be a bit of a short one this week. A lot has happened, but I think I’ll probably just keep it to a minimum so you know….

Good news, we have two baptisms planned for this week! It’s the cambodian family, Sary and Saraam. They’re students here studying to be teachers (well at least Sary is). They also help run an orphanage back in Cambodia. They have two little boys back home that they’ve left for a while to come here. They’ve been here for about a year and a quarter. They’ll go back to Cambodia in december. We found them playing badmitton in front of their house, they live three doors down from us. Both are super keen, but we may have to push the baptism back because we still have one or two things to teach them. We’ve covered all the big stuff though. It was one of the coolest lessons of my life teaching the word of wisdom. I’ve never actually had to teach this lesson to someone who isn’t a child, and because they’re asian, I went in prepared for a bit of a discussion on tea. Then we taught it. It was one of the most spiritual moments of the mission, and then, guess what? Sary told me he has never smoked, stays away from coffee most of the time, and can’t drink tea because it’s bad for his heart! That family is so golden I can’t believe it! These will be the first two real baptisms I’ve had my whole mission. And it could not be happening to better people. The two of them are so faith filled, it’s almost unbelievable. I’ll try to get a photo with them this week

Well, I hope you all have a good week. Despite some of the difficulties I’ve been facing, I’ve had some of the most spiritual experiences I’ve ever had as well. More than just with Sary and Saraam. I know this church is true. There are still questions, but there is no doubt. I love you all. I’ll talk to you all soon.

Love you all heaps!-Elder Shelton
